Privacy, in plain words

The extension sends nothing anywhere. Its security policy blocks every network request. There is no account, no analytics, no ads.

What it keeps on your computer

  • Small screenshots of your tabs, so you see previews. Kept while a tab with that page is open, then 7 days.
  • The title and address of tabs you closed, for 7 days, so you can search and reopen them.
  • Tab groups you chose to keep, until you remove them (only if you turned tab groups on).
  • A few counters: whether you have seen the tour, and how often you opened Tabatha, so it asks for a review only now and then.

Removing the extension deletes all of it.

This website

No cookies, no tracking. If you send feedback, your message (and your email, only if you add it) is stored so I can read and answer it, and is never shared or sold.

The same goes for the three short forms Tabatha links to: the Pro waitlist (your email, used only for Tabatha Pro news, and your answer if you give one), the survey (your rating and answer), and the page Chrome opens after you remove Tabatha (your reason, if you pick one). Each one sends only when you press its button, along with the page language and Tabatha's version number. Removing Tabatha sends nothing by itself. To have anything you sent deleted, ask on the feedback page.

On the Pro page you can vote for ideas and request features. A vote stores only the idea and a random number your browser keeps (so it counts once); a request stores what you wrote, and your email only if you add it. Requests appear on the page only after they are read and approved.

With anything you send, the site also keeps a one-way scrambled form of your IP address (it can't be turned back into the address) to stop spam floods, and feedback messages keep your browser's name and version to help with bug reports.
